SCREAM OPENING SCENE


1) Create a plan of how you will do the recreation using CLAMPS. For each aspect of mise-en-scene, work out how you will recreate it as accurately as possible to the original.
C-White jumper and blue jeans
L- Original kitchen lighting
A-Walking around in a cheery mood
M- Subtle touches here and there, very minimal, concealer under eyes to brighten up the look
P- A landline phone- don't have one so using what looks similar
S- Kitchen area and outside house view shot.                                                                                            

2) Write a script and shot list of every shot you will need for the 30-60 second recreation.

FADE IN

ON A RINGING TELEPHONE.

A hand reaches for it, bringing the receiver up to the face of
CASEY BECKER, a young girl, no more than sixteen.  A friendly face
with innocent eyes.

                CASEY
        Hello.

                MAN'S VOICE
            (from phone)
        Hello.

Silence.

                CASEY
        Yes.

                MAN
        Who is this?

                CASEY
        Who are you trying to reach?

                MAN
        What number is this?

                CASEY
        What number are you trying to reach?

                MAN
        I don't know.

                CASEY
        I think you have the wrong number.

                MAN
        Do I?

                CASEY
        It happens. Take it easy.

CLICK! She hangs up the phone.  The CAMERA PULLS BACK to reveal
Casey in a living room, alone.  She moves from the living room to
the kitchen.  It's a nice house.  Affluent.

The phone RINGS again.

INT.  KITCHEN

Casey grabs the portable.

                CASEY
        Hello.

                MAN
        I'm sorry. I guess I dialed the wrong number.

                CASEY
        So why did you dial it again?

                MAN
        To apologise.

                CASEY
        You're forgiven. Bye now.

                MAN
        Wait, wait, don't hang up.

Casey stands in front of a sliding glass door.  It's pitch black
outside.

                CASEY
        What?

                MAN
        I want to talk to you for a second.

                CASEY
        They've got 900 numbers for that. See ya.

CLICK!  Casey hangs up.  A grin on her face.

EXT.  CASEY'S HOUSE - NIGHT - ESTABLISHING

A big country home with a huge sprawling lawn full of big oak
trees.  It sits alone with no neighbours in sight.

3) Export your finished video, upload it to YouTube and post it to your blog along with a 100-word explanation of your work.


When creating my recreation I had many difficulties such as the sound bar not cooperating with me as well as me not knowing how to add audio in specific time slots. This led to a lot more researching which was fine by me since it was my first time doing something like this. As long as I found a solution for each issue brought up it was fine.When editing, at first I must admit I was a bit perplexed on which buttons do what but once I kept trying I was successful in doing so. Once I got the hang of it it was pretty simple for me to place all the clips together since there were only 3 in total.When I was filming it went fairly well for em only a few minor issues such as retakes and the focus of the camera. In conclusion, it was a good experience but however In the near future I hope to become much more professional in both editing and filming for future projects.However, I feel like I could have improved the background noise by eliminating as a while to make the sound much more clearer.Overall for my first time I feel like I did a pretty great job with adding the mise-en-scene. Summer project tasks 1) Research: TV crime drama extract analysis  How To Get Away With Murder: Narrative and genre In terms of the tv crime drama genre it is mainly viewed by the older generation however because the show involves a narrative of law students it gained a lot of attraction from college/law  students across the world, which skyrocketed the viewer age.  show starts off with an introduction to a criminal law course, throughout the seasons the audience is able to identify the irony between the law class and what they have to go through in order to actually get away with murder. The Specials - Ghost Town: Blog tasks

  Background and historical contexts 1)  Why does the writer link the song to cinematic soundtracks and music hall tradition? Formed in 1977 and arguably the most influential band of the UK’s  2 Tone Ska  scene, “Ghost Town”, a skewed ska oddity, was written by Jerry Dammers, The Specials’ keyboardist and released in June 1981. It was their last song before splitting up and reforming as The Special AKA and stayed at the top of the UK charts for three weeks.
