First Picture: Low-key lighting.Top lighting; it creates a hidden like feature to the image as if she is searching for something up top.
Second Picture: High-key lighting.Back and under lighting; it creates a powerful image because of the darkened areas on his face.
First Picture: High-key lighting.Under lighting; it creates a more natural outlook of the image because of the light coming through the blinds.
Second Picture: Low-key/High-key lighting.Back lighting; it creates a sense of authority because the shadows positioning makes the whole image powerful.

2) Film noir research
Research film noir - focusing on the genre’s distinctive lighting style. Make notes on the genre and particularly the use of lighting - bullet points are fine.
The genre of film noir is mainly based around the concept of potential criminal work a sense of secrecy involved within which detectives are involved. This concept mainly has a lot of low-key lighting which means dark use of lighting is portrayed to give it that mysterious atmosphere which creates a lot of suspense within audience.
3) Film noir YouTube clip analysis
Finally, find a YouTube clip that fits the film noir genre and embed it under your research (the clip can be classic noir from the 1950s or something more recent - neo-noir). How does the clip's lighting fit the film noir genre?

The lighting is based around the positioning of the characters meaning the girl being positioned at the top of the stairs meant that the lighting has been placed exactly where her authority is portrayed. The man being at the bottom of the stairs you can tell that his authority is not as important as the woman. The lighting being from the top and shone down analyses the deeper hidden meaning between the positioning of the characters and the lighting.
