Mise-en-scene video feedback and learner response

 Mise-en-scene recreation: Learner response

1) Type up your feedback from your teacher in full.

Good performance! Clearly good attention to detail to original scene and dialogue. Expression and movement generally good (aside from one early movement).Props and locations strong- cordless phone ad shots of garden ( good lighting there too). Use of audio does add to authenticity but i'd rather see you record an original performance. It was very well edited though.

2) Use the feedback you've been given to write your own self-assessment of your video using WWW (What Went Well) and EBI (Even Better If...)

WWW-Nice acting.

          The lines were accurate.

Perfect use of audio, home setting and facial expressions.

          Similar scene recreation.

         Props on point.

At the end when the camera pans out it depicts how much of an ominous are its on the sound of the crickets.

EBI- Wrong type of phone and slow walking.

Better timed dialogue and less camera shake.

       Props not as accurate.

Camera angle was a bit off.

Camera was a bit blurry at one point.

3) Now reflect on your own work in more detail. How did your planning help clarify and develop your ideas?

When editing, at first I must admit I was a bit perplexed on which buttons do what but once I kept trying I was successful in doing so. Once I got the hang of it it was pretty simple for me to place all the clips together since there were only 3 in total. When I was filming it went fairly well for em only a few minor issues such as retakes and the focus of the camera. However, I feel like I could have improved the background noise by eliminating as a while to make the sound much more clearer.

4) Thinking technically, how could you improve your work for future videos? (E.g. filming, editing, etc.)

In the near future I hope to become much more professional in both editing and filming for future projects.Overall for my first time I feel like I did a pretty great job with adding the mid-en-scene.

5) Finally, what have you learned regarding the importance of mise-en-scene in film and television? Write a paragraph to answer this.

I have learnt that the importance of mise-en-scene in film and television is crucial since each aspect of clamps gives a much polished look of the product in the end. This makes the product worth seeing. For example, if a character doesn't have a costume it doesn't really say much about the characters background that much meaning its aesthetic is unknown and without it we are unable to understand who they are.In film and television, lighting is very crucial since it allows the audience to know where their attention should be most. It also foreshadows the characters facial expressions and helps with the layout of the setting as well.Actor/movement is a key aspect of any film or television since they are the centre of attention and that means however they re placed matters since that's what draws the audience's attention.Make-up shows any form of 'injury' or any major event that comes through during the course of the film/television. It also gives a character an aesthetic just like costume does. Props are important since it links to the setting and overall gives it a sense of belonging.Without the setting, there would be no actual story line of the film/television since setting is what makes it whole.
